The Tasman Blob

  • The Tasman Blob was a super intense, slow-moving high pressure system that progressively built up between South Australia and New Zealand. It extended to the south of Tasmania with heights at sea reaching the 15 metre mark. As it turned left at the south-east corner of the country, the East Coast was hit with 19 second ground swell and stiff offshore winds.

This made for a memorable and intense session at Dee Why Point where unusually it was working for both lefts and rights.
