  • Deadmans is a notoriously difficult break and one with a high level of difficulty when it comes to selecting waves. Due to its sucky nature and the rock shelf that creates the break, waves can instantly change characteristics in the split second it takes between deciding to launch and actually launching. Even being off by one degree can end with a trip over the falls.

This early morning session saw a well-populated, lively, local, experienced crew gorging on double to triple overhead goodness produced by a slow moving Tasman Low. The waves were tall and the rides long - all the way past Winki Pop and onto Fairy Bower if you wanted and your legs for up for it.

And the quality of wave selection? Better than average.
